DM

An enjoyable read that jumps into the complex relationships of a group of friends over a lifetime of experiences. Bound together with great humour, thoughtful insights, authenticity, and a touch of golf. Highly recommended.

MARK GRAY

This is a brilliantly crafted story spanning the lives of a group of mates and their love for the game of golf, intertwined with some mystery, twists and turns. This is a refreshing and entertaining read. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy!!!

I found myself laughing out loud at times and enthralled as I followed these characters throughout the book. It is a great read even if you have no interest in golf.

SIMON MARTIN

Great read - weaving stories about mateship, emotions and life, with golf and small town communities. Loved the characters and the intertwining of their stories that come together brilliantly in the end.

FISH WHITING

The embedded lie explores how childhood friendships can transcend personal and family differences over decades. Filled with twists and turns and a mystery spanning 30 years affecting many families, Dickson weaves an intricate tale with humour and sensitivity.
His first novel also includes the best summary I've ever read of the love-hate relationship golfers have with the sport.
Golfers and nongolfers alike will love it.

CHARLIE

This book is like the round of golf it starts with, full of so many twists that like golf sucks you in to not want to stop until you have finished.

STEPHEN B. COULTER

The Embedded Lie brought back many great memories of my youth, school friends through the decades, fun times, and my local golf club. I loved the characters and the emotions captured - from joy to humour and sadness.

Hey Pete, Well, what a read! Thoroughly enjoyed this book right from the very first chapter. It seems that you drew on a lot of your own life experience.... both good times and bad! A few of the characters were very familiar to me which was very nice and further engaged me with the story. Who'd of thought this care-free, happy go lucky teenager that joined the NSCA all those years ago had so many hidden talents. All of your success is a real credit to you Pete. I know Rob would be beaming. Keep up the good work mate.

ANON

Hilarious and relatable story. Somewhat autobiographical I think? Well done Pete.

I gifted this book to my Dad for Christmas as he is a mad golfer and he said he absolutely loves it - plenty of laugh out loud moments. Thank you for a great storyline it has definitely appealed to him.

Fantastic book . Particularly for old mates who get together over a game of golf once a year . Catch up life with friends who in the main don’t judge you . Couldn’t put it down

This book got me in just like a game of golf it took me to different places as I tried to guess what would happen next and kept me guessing until the end.
